![]() It was a peaceful balm in the midst of some emotional storms and I so valued and appreciated this read as a result. It was a very comforting read as it reminded me of everything that I know and hold dear here in my own country. At more than one point in our trip, I was very homesick for the good ol' US of A and Mitford brought me back to it in my imagination. In the end, I don't think I could have chosen a more perfect book to read than At Home in Mitford. (It was a placeholder for the souvenirs!) Instead, I picked up a cheap, battered up paperback copy which I read and left behind. I own them all in hardback form but didn't want to lug any about due to space concerns. ![]() These books have been overdue for a re-read. The last time I visited with anyone from Mitford was back in 2007 so it has been awhile. As it turns out, I didn't have as much time to read as I thought I would but the one book I did make it through was At Home in Mitford. We recently went on a "little" trip overseas and, as is the case whenever one travels, I was in something of a quandary to know which books to take along with me. ![]() Chronicles of Narnia Reading Challenge (74). ![]()
